Brand New to Blogging? Start Here!
The day I decided to start a blog, I was both so excited and nervous. I knew that I wanted to turn my passion for writing into something practical and useful, but I knew nothing about blogging. I was a late adopter of social media, too, and I was worried that I was going to be over my head. I’m the type of person who loves to do research, so I scoured Pinterest and Google for any information I could on blogging. It didn’t take long for me to come across Pete and Heather Reese’s free 5 Day Start a Money Making Blog Crash Course.
In five days, I learned what I needed to get my blog off the ground and running. I already had my website, but I didn’t know what to do after that. They provided the support I needed through the emails and their wonderful Facebook community that participants of the course are invited to join. You get so much information for free. I loved the 5 Day Start a Money Making Blog Crash Course so much that when I found out about their free 10 Days to 10K Traffic Challenge, I was eager to sign-up.
If you already have a blog set up but you need help with generating traffic to your website, the 10 Days to 10K Traffic Challenge is for you. The challenge is absolutely free and a wonderful way to network with other bloggers while growing your traffic. It’s great for both new and veteran bloggers. I participate in the challenge every month and I love my results! Click here to join the 10 Days to 10K Traffic Challenge hosted by Pete and Heather Reese of It’s a Lovely Life.
Take Your Blog to the Next Level
After I finished my first 10 Days to 10K Traffic Challenge, I was ready for more. I had the confidence to know that I could take my blog further. After experiencing how much value Pete and Heather put into their free class and challenge, I couldn’t wait to see what they had to offer in their paid course, Blogging Blastoff 2.0. Here is a small sample of what I learned from their course:
- An in-depth guide to promoting a blog on social media
- How to pitch companies for paid opportunities, free products, and experiences
- All about affiliate marketing
- Blogging networks to join
- Creative ways to monetize your blog without being sales-y
Aside from all of the information Heather and Pete share every day during the month, you also get access to their VIP groups on Facebook, where you can network with other bloggers and support each other. I truly love the sense of community that Heather and Pete foster in their groups.
I’m a big fan of DreamHost. They make hosting a WordPress site a breeze and take out all of the guesswork for me. The few times I’ve needed technical support, they were prompt and polite. They have WordPress pre-installed with useful plug-ins, so it’s perfect if you’re completely new to blogging. If you’re more interested in building a website than a traditional blog, they also have an amazing tool called Website Builder: Remixer that lets you build your website in minutes.
